I never got around to posting this before, but It seems people didn't even know about it! I guess I need to try to spend out my time on all my jobs more... This is my 3rd 5/5 as well! :p

I know it has been a long time since the entry of “BRD: Job Journal 1” but like I said in my most recent posting I wanted to keep this string of entries going, or I suppose in this case starting.

Much like my last BRD entry I don’t want this to focus on game mechanics, which is what my further entries will center on.  In this journal I am actually looking to reach out to my livejournal community that spends to time to read this journal.

This is the question, or set of questions I want to ask to each and every one of you:

• What makes you a good BRD?  What attributes or traits makes a BRD good in your opinion and in what situations, all, exp, hnm, etc.?

• If you have what I like to call “amazing (job) moment” what situation did this happen with your BRD?  Have you had a party or event with another BRD in which their performance made a mark in your memory, for the good or the bad? Share :p

• If you had 1 or 2 things you could tell every BRD to remember/do/attempt what would they be?  Any opinions in helping out other BRDs become better?

• And lastly, what are your BRD pet peeves?  Both being a BRD and working with BRDs, also both in actual game play and overall attitude.

And only to be fair, asking all of you to answer these questions I will answer them myself.  You don’t need to answer all of them, and you can leave parts of them out, but any information would be really helpful.  I am simply looking to get other peoples opinion on BRD and maybe get some good conversation started.

• I feel that there are multiple reasons I am a good BRD!  I guess personally I feel that my strong point as a BRD is information gathering, processing, and changing in every situation depending on all overriding circumstances.  I never play BRD the same in an exp setting as at an HNM.

• My personal “amazing BRD moment” was at Fafnir.  If I remember correctly the party setup we used from start to finish on this Fafnir was as follows:  Party1: PLD/WAR, RDM/BLM, BRD/WHM(me), BLM/???x2, THF/WHM, Party2:  BLM/???x2.  It was a rough, long fight with a pull containing darters; a couple occasions, including pull with DoTs applied; and as you can tell a decent low man group. Really, nothing amazingly special to tell in the story but I remember it being a huge rush on my BRD, and I remember getting to actually switch to MP gear and use all 450ish MP I had :p

• USE YOUR MP WHEN YOUR /WHM, and 2ndly DON’T BE “/NIN ONRY”.  As of recent I have been really upset with the lack of knowledge of a BRD outside of casting 2 sets of songs.  I suppose I just expect more out of people when playing any job, not just BRD.  As an overall to all BRD’s, learn your gear and learn how to gear swap.  There is a ton of gear that can be changed and should be changed depending on pulling/curing/debuffing/buffing.

• Being a BRD, one of the biggest pet peeves is positioning of people and refusal to work with you on said positioning.  I can do a lot with distance plugin and different instrument choices, due to the fact I know each of them down to .5 distance.  But when people constantly move and refuse to get into position, and then bitch when they are missing songs, fuck you.  I hate BRDs that are lazy and have the greater than god attitude.  Most of you suck giant ass and need to get over yourselves that is all.

Any responses would be great guys, and I am looking forward to getting into the mechanics during the next BRD journal, and I am looking forward to starting the dreaded… RDM Journal.

Basically I just wanted to throw this up on livejournal, to clarify why I have been missing in action for the last 2 or so months.

I told you I was going to take a screen shot when I got home of this! I need to get Photoshop again, the picture lost some quality due to freaking editing it in Paint, but so be it.

While sitting uncomfortably on the plane back home, I figured I would write up an update to keep myself occupied. I have a feeling that in this entry I probably will talk about what has been happening in my “RL” so if you don't really care, and because I care enough to save my friend's, “friend's pages” I will just throw everything into a bug LJ cut:

Dynamis has been great to me as of late dropping two of the items I have wanted since I've had the specific jobs leveled. In less than a few months even. Just this last Saturday~

Yay! More good news from salvage... and I swear bitching about drops increases drop rate if done at the right time:



Magius Quite generously passed the masks to us, even though he would probably get more use out of it!

5 Skirmish popped this run, with no other NM's popping on the other Rampart. We didn't go for the third rampart due to lack of time, and 0 HP cells. The last 2 which popped nearly back to back during the last 15% of the Rampart's HP dropped the Masks. Time to start getting Oric. Ingots together, even tho I don't have the LAC drop. I am sure with the 35's in Bhaf. Rem. droping now we will make more of an effort for LAC.

I went into this journal thinking I would have a bunch of pictures, but I come to find that the ones I have are shit and/or the events are honestly too old to post. None the less I do have some stuff to share!

First off, I changed my LJ theme. I am not 100% sure I will keep this one, but I really like it so far. If you guys don't like it then fuck you. /hugs

After a random 3:30am Ashu Talif #2 we went to town and appraised our ??? headgear. The following was the result:



I seem to have forgotten to take a picture of the lots, but I ninja'ed that shit with a 980~+. None of us knew what it was when it dropped, and with a quick wiki lookup, and with the lack of information posted I got all excited! What was really interesting was this was the first enhancement that I got:



At that time, like stated before it was already past 4:00am and I was not in the condition to do and test the effect. I plan to go get a MDB number off some EM elementals and test if I randomly get the shell enhancement again. The two other times I have used the crown so far I have gotten a standard "Blink" Spell, and +45DEF [Tested to be directly +45DEF] (DEF Bonus Icon {Cocoon or Rampart}). The effect lasts 15min, and is lost if the crown is removed.

Because the effect is random, the item is truly worthless, but equipping the crown right before a fight, and getting say, +45ACC or +45ATT would actually be something worth having.

Salvage has been a cunt as always, but we did finished Michele's Morrigan's Crown. I am not sure when she will be getting her Ingots together, but Congrats. Update time!

First off I want to just show a glimpse of what Magius can do in an EXP party.



This is with buffs of course, and /warrior. The 400's are standard hits with the 1100 a triple proc. The triple critical was higher than any other members highest WS. Granted we had a RDM COR BRD RNG MNK DRK party. lv70 lolDRK was actually holding well as far as damage went (20%?) and so was the COR (8%?). The monk wasn't far behind Mag (30%~?) but I think Magius parsed 40% damage for the party.



This was the night before lasts Salvage drops. Both bodies went free lot because I think we have gotten like 6 or 7 of them total now. We are still looking for 2 more Usu heads to drop but the last 8 or so kills have dropped shit (things we don't want).

And lastly, Remember that impulse I had a few days ago? Well I finally got a putout on a KSNM, my last 14 KS30's have dropped total shit (Nothing over 100k) and this one put out.

3 of them actually, and we got our first drops off Rampart NM's!!

I also promised that this would get posted on my Live Journal and I am only a few days late I suppose. Now the real reason that he sent that tell was as follows:



Note that this was in Dragon's Aery. He didn't get his chance to tank his first Faffy that night, but I know he will eventually. His gear looked very similar to mine when I first entered DA on PLD. It was cute and brought back memories just from seeing him.

Got an Aspi claim the other day with the following drops:



It could be worse, and at least the person that won the lot deserved every bit of it in my opinion. No Dalmatica though, not that I would win a lot on something that I want so dearly.  Grats Garnet.

And in much older news, I think this was the last week in Sept., but Congrats on obtaining your pole again Naga! His SAM/WAR with Pole-arm is quite powerful, and he doesn't even have the entire gear set he is looking for (DEX build for crits).  I was amazed as I watched how high his Penta-Thrust damage was, a lot higher and more of them than any DRG can put out.

I want to mention that this KS fight blows ass, and we managed to win when we switched to a Mana burn setup.. we tried to melee burn it and things went horribly bad. Don't listen to what Somepage or Wiki says about this fight. They lie.



Thats it for now, I really should try to take better/more screen shots. It seems I always forget or am far to lazy to post and it becomes too old of news.

I am in love with this modification. It hasn't even given me any major glitches as far as gear or weapons either.

OK, I know I bitch about peoples gear and such but holy shit WTF? This is gathering for Dynamis-Xarcabard. And this is in fact the gear he is going to use during the run. /dies a little inside. GO FUCKING FARM OR CHANGE JOBS! (I'm only guessing his other jobs are probably = to this equipment display though)
